David McKie is an award-winning CBC News journalist. In 2008, he was part of a team that won the Michener Award for its Taser coverage. David works in Ottawa out of the corporation’s Parliamentary bureau, using the federal access to information law and provincial freedom of information laws to find original stories. David teaches journalism at Carleton University, Algonquin College, and the University of King’s College. David has co-authored two journalism textbooks, Digging Deeper: A Canadian Reporter’s Research Guide and Computer-Assisted Reporting: A Comprehensive Primer. David also edits Media magazine for the Canadian Association of Journalists, and is J-Source’s issues editor.
